Spareblocks.com packing bay 2014

The above Gif image was taken 23/05/2014. The image is of our 'packing shop' which is a corner of the room dedicated to picking and packing orders.

Our product range (which exceeds 15,000 different types of Lego part) is arranged in more than 250 separate boxes / drawers in order of popularity/frequency ordered in the hope of reducing carpet and leg wear! We can generally locate individual stocked items within seconds from the +2 million parts located in the packing bay. The average time to pack individual orders is 18 minutes, although packing is only part of the overall process, as orders take an average of 38 minute total to process, this includes:-

Printing off the received order
Creating and printing a postage label
Taking-off the purchased items
Picking the ordered parts
Packing the parts
Weighing the packed parcel and assigning postage instructions
Logging the order details
Delivering the parcels to a courier
Emailing buyers to confirm dispatch
Calculating and issuing part refunds

Other administrative operations are also necessary, and we have to deal with telephone and email enquiries. Buying Lego, sorting it, listing it, and all the other tasks we have to undertake are all very time consuming. A great deal of parts can remain unsold for years waiting for their new owner to come across our website, so our efforts are rarely quickly rewarded.
